Ergotherapy
In occupational therapy, or ergotherapy, a movement exercise is
integrated into a step-by-step process – ideally, it takes the form of
a given manual work activity.
The total attention of the guest is concentrated upon the rhythmic
manual activity, while at the same time he or she is automatically
performing a therapeutically prescribed movement exercise. This rhythmic movement
results in a regulated stretching and relaxing of the corresponding
muscle groups. The aim of the exercises is, in general, to increase and improve the
mobility and flexibility of the treated extremities, to strengthen the
musculature and to increase stamina.
