Tub baths

Tub baths generally serve to maximize the effects of our thermal waters. The specific chemical effect of the bath depends on the composition of the water. Piešťany mineral water is a natural, weakly mineralised calcium-sodium, hypotonic sulphuric thermal water. We encourage our guests to take advantage of any of the following full body experiences each of which is designed to maximize relaxation and regeneration.

a) Bath in thermal mineral water is used mainly for the dermatic penetration of sulphids from mineral water, which results in deposits of sulphur in the skin. It is further absorbed into the body as cysteine, methionine or gluthation. The sulphur inhibits the degradation of elastine, collagen and hyaluronane, thus reducing blood pressure, and causing the dilatation of blood vessels. The bath has a total relaxation and tranquillising effect. The temperature of the mineral sulphuric bath is usually 36°–38°C it lasts 20 minutes and it ends with a dry wrap up to 15 minutes.

b) Bubble bath is prepared through saturation of the mineral water with a temperature of 36°–37°C using compressed air . Air bubbles rise up from the bottom of the tub creating a soothing soft massage of our guests skin. The bath lasts 20 minutes, and it ends with a dry wrap up to 15 minutes. The bath has a sedative effect and facilitates tranquillization. We especially recommend our bubble bath for those suffering from the effects of insomnia and neurotic problems or stress caused from work.

Perličkový kúpeľ

c) Tub carbon bath is prepared through saturation of the mineral water cooled down to 32°-34°C with a carbon dioxide. In order to dissolve in water a sufficient volume of CO2, the temperature of the water has to be lower, the tub has to be filled from the bottom up, and the position of the guest in the bath should be fully relaxed, with head over the edge of the tub. The initial feeling of cold is in some 10 seconds replaced by the feeling of pleasant warmth, which is the result of active hyperaemia. The bath is suitable for coronary-vascular and nerve diseases. It lasts from 15 to 20 minutes, followed by a dry wrap for up to 15 minutes.
